How Often Should I Change My Air Filter?

Air Filter Replacment

The Engine Air Filter is an important part of your engines operation.  It ensures that dirt, dust and debris don’t enter the engine and cause damage.  As your Air filter collects this debris it becomes dirty and restricted.  Just like you and I, your cars engine runs properly when it has the Right Amount of Clean Air.  As your air filter starts to become restricted it can cause your vehicle to begin to run poorly or not to run at all.  At Priebe’s Auto Clinic and Tire Center we recommend replacing your Air Filter every 30,000 miles at the most.  Some vehicle will need filter changes much more often.  If you drive on dirt roads or in dusty conditions on a regular basis it is likely that your air filter will need to be change more often.  We check your air filter on each visit as part of our standard Preventative Maintenance Inspection.  This helps to ensure that your engine keeps running properly for as long as possible.
