How Often Should I Replace the Battery In My Car?
That is a great question! The Battery is the main power reserve for your vehicle. The battery is responsible for providing the power to start your vehicle and allows all of the electronics to keep their memory when you car is turned off. This makes sure you don’t have to reset all of the clocks in your car every time you shut it off. It also allows you to use many of your vehicles accessories without the engine running. Most people have experienced a Dead Battery at some point in their life. You go out to the car Turn The Key and…..Nothing. It usually happens at the absolute worst time possible as well. Sometimes I think our cars know when we have important events, first days at work, or are just in a major hurry. When a Car battery leave you stranded most of the time it looks like the one below.

That battery was nearly 5 years old and did exactly as expected and left the vehicle stranded. Modern car batteries generally last around 3-4 years. We believe that it is our job to keep our customers from being Broken Down, especially from a Dead Battery. At Priebe’s Auto Clinic and Tire Center we perform a load test on your Battery at every visit. This makes sure that we can catch any early signs of failure. We also keep track of when your battery was replaced so we can also make recommendations based on time. This Load Test is part of our standard Preventative Maintenance Inspection. A tester, like the one shown bellow, loads the battery and evaluated how the battery deals with a set load. This shows us a snapshot of the overall Condition of the Battery.

At Priebe’s Auto Clinic and Tire Center we take great care to do everything we can to keep your car on the road. Call us anytime at 405-225-2007 to or visit PACOKC.COM to schedule a reservation.
