A Code Scan Is Not the Same as Diagnostics
Many parts stores can scan a code, but a code does not automatically tell you what part to replace. A trouble code only tells us where the vehicle’s computer saw a problem.
For example, an oxygen sensor code does not always mean the oxygen sensor is bad. The real issue could be a vacuum leak, exhaust leak, wiring problem, fuel problem, or another engine performance issue.
