The Problem with DIY Recharging

1. Refrigerant Recovery & Evacuation
First, we use a specialized machine to safely recover any old refrigerant. Then, we perform an evacuation. We use a high-powered vacuum pump to pull a “deep vacuum” on your system. This does two things:
- It boils off any moisture trapped in the lines.
- It removes all non-condensable gases (air) that prevent the AC from getting cold.
2. The Vacuum Hold Test
Once the system is empty, our machine monitors the vacuum level. If the system cannot hold a vacuum, it’s a clear sign of a leak. We won’t waste your money by putting expensive 1234yf gas into a system that’s just going to leak it back out. This test can last up to an hour and measure the ability of the system to hold vacuum pressure.
3. Precision Recharge by Weight
We don’t go by “pressure” on a cheap gauge. Every car has a specific sticker under the hood that lists the exact weight of refrigerant needed (often measured in grams or ounces). Our computerized stations weigh the refrigerant into your car with dealership-level accuracy.
4. Performance & Dye Testing
