The next sign of a failing transmission is an odd noise. If your transmission whines or sings while you are in a particular gear it is a sign that the gears are starting to fail.
Shifting issues are one of the most common issues when your transmission is beginning to fail. If your transmission doesn’t shift when it is supposed to or shift hard (slams into gear) that means that there is definitely an issues.
